hands down one of the best desserts i have ever had- and i have had a lot of desserts;). it's the most utterly delicious, melt in your mouth, smooth luscious treat ever! & i don't even like bananas! oh & it has yummy myer's dark rum in it, just an added bonus;) i could seriously eat this all the time!
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup dark brown sugar
3 1/2 tablespoons rum- dark rum works best for flavor- i use myer's
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 bananas, peeled and sliced any way, lengthwise or in smaller pieces
1 pint vanilla ice cream- i used haagen daaz
In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in sugar, rum, vanilla and cinnamon. When mixture begins to bubble, place bananas and in pan. Cook until bananas are hot, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve at once over vanilla ice cream.
