blueberry cupcakes with maple brown butter frosting.

so now, thanks to a certain someone of whom alen works with, i have been obsessed with ming makes cupcakes. someone discovered this website, told alen and he, knowing the sweet tooth that i have and my love of baking to go along with it, passed it along to me. of course i'm obsessed now- i mean, look at the pictures!!, and the yummy not-so-common-in-a-cupcake ingredients!!!

anyway, this means i will be stuck in the kitchen determined to make each cupcake (35 different cupcakes recipes) for the next couple of weeks. these cupcakes look so good, it was as if someone waved a magic delicious wand over them and to my surprise, they were easy to make. and they taste better than they look!  so, here was my first attempt at cupcake #19 , recipe courtesy of ming makes cupcakes.  they turned out to be some of the best cupcakes i have ever had!
Ingredients for batter

1 & 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cups of sugar
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 & 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 stick of butter, melted
1 egg
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup milk
1 cup blueberries

Ingredients for icing

1 stick butter
3 cups confectioners sugar
1/4 cup of milk
3 tsp maple syrup

Mix flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix butter and egg lightly. Add buttermilk and milk. Add milk mixture to flour and mix until just blended. Toss blueberries in a tablespoon of flour and fold into batter. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

To make icing,   melt the butter in a saucepan at medium heat until golden brown. In a bowl, add butter to sugar, then add milk and syrup. Beat until smooth and frost immediately.
